Barry Ira Freedman MD

Barry I. Freedman, MD, is the John H. Felts, III Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Section on Nephrology at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Dr. Freedman is also the Executive Director of the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Kidney & Dialysis Service Line. His research focuses on identifying genes underlying kidney diseases, diabetes mellitus, as well as cardiovascular and bone disease, with a focus on the African American population.
