Biography :

Azeez Farooki is an Assistant Attending Physician on the Endocrinology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is also an Assistant Attending Physician at Weill Cornell Medical College. His expertise includes osteoporosis / metabolic bone diseases, bone metastases due to malignancy, diabetes, general endocrinology.

Dr. Farooki is the foremost Clinical Specialist in bone disease at MSKCC, though he does see the entire range of endocrinology patients. His interests are cancer treatment-induced bone loss, metastatic bone disease, as well as the intersection of diabetes and cancer. Dr. Farooki has published in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, The Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Internal Medicine and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. He has twice served on the NCCN taskforce for Bone Health in Cancer Care and has also served on the PI3 kinase, Akt inhibitor, mTOR inhibitor Task Force to the Investigational Drug Steering Committee of the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Farooki has consulted for numerous pharmaceutical companies.
