Dr. Aruni A. Wilson was involved in active teaching and research for a period of 24 years. Previously, he was working as Professor, at the Center for Excellence in Animal Biotechnology and Immunology, and also at the Department of Microbiology, Madras Veterinary College, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai. During his tenure, he occupied various academic capacities as Head of - the University Bioinformatics Center and advanced imaging facility. As an experienced academician with vast international exposure, he is also a well-trained researcher in the field of Microbiology and Biotechnology, his research focuses on studying infectious pathogens, their virulence, and their importance in systemic diseases.
His expertise in the field of Bioinformatics and nano-vaccine delivery systems is well acknowledged. He received his DVM degree from India. And his doctoral studies focused on studying the virulence of orbiviruses, and work performed in studying their molecular morphogenesis at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India. His postdoctoral training at the University of California, Davis brought about seminal publications (USDA & BBSRC-UK). Recently, Dr. Wilson has taken up the position of Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai on Sabbatical leave from Professor, Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Global Health, California University of Science and Medicine, Loma Linda, USA.
