Antony Louis Rex Michael DNB, FRCS Ed, MMedSci, FRCS

Dr. Antony Louis Rex Michael is a consultant trauma and orthopedic surgeon, specializing in spinal and scoliosis surgery. He has over 30 years of medical experience and over 15 years of specialist experience as a consultant trauma and orthopedic surgeon. He has specialist interests in scoliosis surgery, spinal tumors, spinal fractures, and neck and back pain. Dr Michael will start practicing shortly at American Hospital, Dubai. He typically sees patients dealing with back pain, fractures, spinal deformities, and degenerative disc disease.

Dr Michael received his MBBS in 1993 from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, India. He then completed a postgraduate degree in Orthopaedics and later moved to the UK for his surgical training. Following his surgical training, he went on to obtain a whole range of qualifications, including a Fellowship in Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and a Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Royal College of Surgeons England. He then began working as a Consultant Paediatric and Adult Spinal Surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospital in the UK. He enjoys teaching and training junior doctors and university students and has held the position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield.
