Dr. Anthony Siow is the medical director of ASC Clinic for Women Pte Ltd at Gleneagles Medical Centre, Singapore. He has more than 20 years of institutional practice and was the first Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital, the largest tertiary referral hospital in Singapore.
Anthony was awarded the Singapore Government Scholarship for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Sydney, Australia where he spent a year mastering the finer aspects of Advanced Endometriosis Surgery and Pelvic Floor Reconstruction. As Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, he spearheaded the KK Laparoscopic Fellowship Training Program and established the KK Endometriosis Clinic. His passion for teaching Advanced Laparoscopy attracted specialists from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the region to train with him. He was awarded Outstanding Clinical Teacher in 2007 and appointed Visiting Professor for Laparoscopy at the University of Philippines in 2009.
Anthony is the first gynecologist in Singapore to perform Single Incision Laparoscopy for Hysterectomy and Myomectomy. As a pioneer of Single Incision Laparoscopy, he was invited to lecture and demonstrate the procedure in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. He is among the few gynecologists in the region to have done more than 400 cases of Single Incision Laparoscopy Surgery.
Apart from laparoscopy, Anthony is an opinion leader in the management of Fibroids, Ovarian Cysts, Menstrual Disorders, and Endometriosis. He is frequently invited to lecture on the latest developments in these conditions and is also called upon to provide Expert Witness Opinion on these issues. Anthony takes pride in explaining complex gynecological conditions in simple terms so that every woman can understand their treatment options. As a result, he is often sought for a second opinion on complex gynecological management. After 20 years of obstetrics practice, Anthony has stopped delivering babies and is now focused on giving his best to help women with their gynecological health, which may involve the need for advanced laparoscopic keyhole surgery.
