Ann Salyer-Caldwell is the associate director of Community Health Promotion at Tarrant County Public Health. She is responsible for oversight of public health preparedness, chronic disease prevention, immunizations and maternal and child health activities. She holds a bachelor degree in dietetics from the University of Tennessee and a Masters in Public Health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Ms. Salyer-Caldwell has 30 years of public health experience in Texas and Louisiana.

She is a retired Captain in the US Navy Reserve with direct patient care as well as operations planning for field hospitals and humanitarian missions experience. Ms. Salyer-Caldwell is the past chair of the Tarrant County Infant Health Network and the chair of the Tarrant County Food Policy Council. She also serves on committees for the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies, University of North Texas School of Public Health and Texas Christian University. She serves on the boards of Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County and Senior Citizens of Tarrant County. Ms. Salyer-Caldwell is an adjunct professor at the University Of North Texas Health Sciences Center School Of Public Health.
