Anhar Hassan, MB.BCH, FRACP, is a second-year movement disorders fellow at the Center for Movement Disorders and Neurorestoration, under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Okun. She graduated with honors from medical school at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. She completed a dual training in internal medicine and neurology at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and Royal Northshore Hospital (Sydney) in Australia. She then attended Mayo Clinic Rochester as the Australian Fellow in Advanced Clinical Neurology, followed by a movement disorder fellowship with Eric Ahlskog, PhD, MD, and a neurophysiology (EMG) fellowship.

After the completion of her current fellowship in 2012, she will return to Mayo Clinic Rochester as faculty in the movement disorder department. Research interests include corticobasal degeneration, clinicopathologic correlates of atypical parkinsonian disorders, and medication-related pathological behaviors in Parkinson’s disease. She has several publications and has presented research abstracts at several national and international meetings.
