Aneel Bhangu MBChB, MRCS

Aneel Bhangu is a Clinical Lecturer in colorectal surgery at the University of Birmingham. He is a committee member of the West Midlands Research Collaborative and a co-founder of GlobalSurg. GlobalSurg is a collaborative group developing research leaders in surgery around the world, focusing on low and middle income countries, and is an example of how the NHS can work beyond its borders. He is Chief Investigator of the GlobalSurg-RCT and was successfully awarded an MRC-Wellcome-DFID Joint Global Health Trials Development grant (2016). Aneel undertook a Cancer Research UK funded PhD Fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital. His research interests are in pragmatic, multicentre surgical clinical trials for patient benefit.
