Dr. Andres M. Acosta is currently a dedicated genitourinary pathologist at Indiana University Health Pathology Laboratory and an Associate Professor of Pathology at Indiana University in Indianapolis. He completed medical school at the Centro de Educación Médica e Investigaciones Clínicas (CEMIC) in Argentina, his home country. He completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Illinois in Chicago, followed by fellowships in genitourinary pathology and surgical pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Before joining Indiana University, he was a faculty member at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Acosta’s research focuses on non-germ cell tumors of the testis and clinically aggressive phenotypes of germ cell tumors resistant to systemic therapy. He has published numerous research papers on these topics and is currently authoring chapters/sections on germ cell tumors and sex cord stromal tumors in several reference books. Dr. Acosta has been a speaker at multiple international conferences in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
