Andreas Reiter MD

Andreas Reiter, MD, leads the Centre of Excellence for MPNs at the University Medical Center Mannheim (UMM), where patients with MPNs receive specialist care and can be treated in national and international studies. Dr. Reiter has been involved in a number of clinical trials, including the JAKARTA and RESPONSE studies, a multicenter trial of imatinib in hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES), and the establishment of an MPN patient registry to aid in more effectively assigning patients to the optimal therapy. Another focus of his work is rare MPNs, with current work addressing modern sequencing techniques and the clinical significance of organ infiltration and dysfunction as a basis for improved discrimination between chronic eosinophilic leukemia, HES, and reactive eosinophilia.
