Andrea Horta-Barba is a neuropsychologist and she currently works at the Movement Disorders Unit in the Department of Neurology at Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona, assessing cognition and behavior mainly in Huntington´s, Parkinson’s’s and Progressive Supranuclear palsy disease. Andrea is the Spanish coordinator of the European Huntington´s Disease Network (EHDN) which gives her the opportunity to be involved national and internationally to the disease. Her research interest is focused on the cognitive and behavioral consequences of basal ganglia dysfunction and her daily tasks are mainly dedicated to designing and administering cognitive and behavioral tasks to the different movement disorders population seen in this unit. Additionally, she participates in the execution of a great number of clinical trials and grant projects in these diseases.

As a result of her activity, she has written book chapters, articles in peer-review journals and has led her work on national and international congresses. She is a professor of neurological disorders in the master's degree in Neuropsychology from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
