Andi L. Shane, MD, MPH, MSc is representing the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society (PIDS) and is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Infectious Disease and the Interim Director of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She is the Marcus Professor of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control and the Medical Director of Hospital Epidemiology at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Her research interests include decreasing rates of healthcare-acquired infections, the applications of probiotics in infectious disease, and optimizing immunization in resource-endowed and resource-challenged settings.
