Amol M. Takalkar MD

Amol M. Takalkar, MD, MS, is the Medical Director of the PET Imaging Center, Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana as well as Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology and Associate Director of Research in the Department of Radiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - Shreveport. Dr. Takalkar also serves as Consultant Nuclear Medicine Physician at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport. He earned his medical degree at the University of Pune in Pune, India, and his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He completed his Nuclear Medicine training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia following a year of General Surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, New York. Dr. Takalkar is board-certified in Nuclear Medicine.
