Dr. Abbott studied medicine at the University of Adelaide before completing postgraduate training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Concord and Royal North Shore hospitals. He is currently a Staff Specialist at Nepean Hospital. He is interested in teaching and training and is the Director of Physician Education at Nepean hospital and a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney. He is heavily involved with the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and is the President of the NSW/ACT Branch Executive. He has a broad interest in respiratory and sleep medicine with specific interests in sleep medicine, airways disease, and bronchiectasis.
