Dr. Ali Moghani Lankarani joined Borland Groover in 2012 from the Mayo Clinic hospital. He moved to Jacksonville from Pittsburgh after finishing his training in gastroenterology at Drexel University- West Penn Allegheny Health System. Dr. Lankarani studied internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins University-Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Dr. Lankarani is a member of the Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Center (ATEC) at Borland Groover and performs advanced endoscopic procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous and early cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. He is especially interested in endoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and has been the lead investigator on the international multi-center study for endoscopic anterior fundoplication using the MUSE system. His research interests mainly involve the development of a new classification system used for personalized endoscopic treatment of GERD.
