Dr. Banks is a certified Multiple Sclerosis (MS) clinical pharmacist and Team Lead for the Neurology and MS pharmacists of the Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy (VSP) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Working within the scope of a Collaborative Pharmacy Practice Agreement (CPPA), Aimee plays a critical role in the care of patients with MS at the VUMC Comprehensive MS Center. Primary clinical responsibilities include patient education and counseling, therapy selection medication management, safety monitoring, protocol development, and management, as well as overseeing insurance approvals and financial assistance.

Aimee graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis. She moved to Nashville and joined VSP in 2013. At that time, she piloted specialty pharmacy services in the VUMC MS Center, where she continues to serve patients and manage their clinical and specialty pharmacy needs. As a pharmacist integrated full-time in the MS clinic, Aimee has the unique opportunity to work alongside physicians, nurses, social workers, researchers, and other members of the comprehensive care team. This collaborative practice method allows for efficient and coordinated care for patients with MS at Vanderbilt. As a thought leader and subject matter expert in both MS care and specialty pharmacy services, Aimee has been heavily involved with various committees and focus groups and has authored and presented many continuing education programs and book chapters on MS.
