Aftab Laher MSc, PhD, C.Psychol, CSci, AFBPsS

Dr Laher is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with a private practice at Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital and Nuffield Health Derby Hospital. He sees adults from 16 years of age. He has extensive experience in the psychological assessment and treatment of adults with common mental health problems including anxiety, depression and physical health difficulties. He specialises in the psychological adjustment to chronic health conditions (e.g. chronic pain), psychological trauma and adjustment following accident or personal injury, workplace well-being (including work-related stress and discrimination issues) and relationship difficulties. He is also trained in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT).

He has been qualified for over 18 years, largely working in NHS adult services across the East Midlands within the specialities of mental health, health psychology and physical rehabilitation - taking a lead role in service development and innovation. He currently works as a Consultant Clinical and Health Psychologist in private practice and is the Managing Director of an independent psychological consultancy, PsyWorks Ltd.
