Adam M. Zanation MD, FACS

Adam M. Zanation, MD, has wasted no time in initiating cutting-edge research in the area of Skull Base Surgery and Oncology. His passion for research began in residency and continues to grow as he embarks his career in a new surgical specialty in Otolaryngology. Dr. Zanation has involved residents, Mihir Patel, Rupali Shah, Josh Surowitz, Kibwei McKinney, and Yu-Tung Wong in studies investigating novel techniques in this area. The lab has also mentored three UNC medical students on projects related to Dr. Zanation’s practice.

Dr. Patel won the 2009 Harrell Resident Research Award for his work on skull base reconstruction and Dr. Zanation was awarded the North American Skull Base Society Research Award in Vancouver, CA on October 2008 for his work on endoscopic resections of sinonasal cancers. Dr. Zanation promises to be an outstanding physician-scientist with research contributions at the forefront of Skull Base Surgery and Head and Neck Oncology.
