Adam’s grandpa was hospitalised after a fall. When he came out of the hospital, Adam looked to technology to support his grandpa’s independence but found tech-based solutions didn’t consider the needs of older people. This drove him to build his own solution and to found Umps Health, with the goal of empowering people to live independently in their own homes. Adam’s background is in the commercialisation of technology to improve public health. Prior to founding Umps Health, he worked at Ericsson, where he led the development of digital transformation projects to improve the livability of cities. He has also previously worked for Cochlear and is a guest lecturer in social entrepreneurship at the University of Melbourne.
