Dr. Abdelmadjid Yacine Zerguini is an Algerian Orthopaedic Surgeon who has been working on football-related matters for most of his medical career. An Assistant Professor at Algiers University School of Medicine, he is also a senior consultant in sport Traumatology, knee surgery and arthroscopy at the Chahrazed Clinic in the Algerian capital.
Dr. Zerguini holds, or has held, important positions within the game nationally, regionally and internationally. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Algerian Football Federation and was chairman of its Medical Committee; he has been a member of the African Football Confederation's Medical Committee since 2002; and of FIFA's since 1994. He became Director of FIFA's Medical Centre of Excellence last year.
Dr. Zerguini was a FIFA Medical Officer at the 2010 World Cup Finals and has served as FIFA's General Medical Officer at a number of Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups.
