Mission:
The mission of The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences CME program is to improve the knowledge, skills, and performance of healthcare professionals through continuing professional education that:

• Supports the SMHS mission in education, patient care, research, and health promotion;
• Incorporates the educational needs of our learners;
• Advances comprehension and implementation of evidenced based concepts and skills to improve patient care;
• Is linked to practice and focused on healthcare quality gaps;
• Creates mechanisms to measure the impact of educational interventions on provider
• knowledge, technical skills, or performance with an aim to improve patient outcomes;
• Supports maintenance of certification and maintenance of licensure;
• Fosters collaboration among healthcare professionals to improve health outcomes;
• Addresses interdisciplinary team practice; and
• Is independent of commercial influence.
