Dr. Renner is an internationally known speaker. His lectures emphasize simple guidelines for reading HRCT and MSK MR and he has been greatly praised by his students. Dr. Renner is board certified in Internal Medicine and Radiology. Dr. Renner is the author of the award-winning Radiographics article “High Resolution CT of the Lung: A Review”, consistently ranked by Google as one of the most read articles in chest radiology. He is the creator of the highly acclaimed Chest HRCT Workbook, updated for 2026, 146 pages of practical advice, patterns, clues, and real-world case examples. Guest Lecturer in MSK MR and HRCT at University of Colorado, and the Director of Radiology Research at Ohio GI and Liver Institute. Excerpts from his book, An Insider’s Guide to MR of the Shoulder. Dr. Renner was voted “Best Lecturer” by the residents at the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Renner has a long-standing commitment to education. He previously served as Director of MR Fellowship Education at ProScan Education, where he helped train radiologists in advanced MRI techniques. He also served as Director of Continuing Medical Education at Deaconess Hospital, overseeing CME programs for practicing physicians.
As a guest lecturer in Musculoskeletal MRI and High-Resolution CT (HRCT), Dr. Renner has been invited to speak at multiple universities and teaching hospitals, including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Colorado, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Puerto Rico. His work combines practical imaging expertise with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, making him a sought-after teacher and consultant in both MSK MR and thoracic imaging.
