The German Society for Radiooncology (DEGRO) was founded in 1995 as the scientific association of physicians, medical physicists, and radiation biologists working in radiation oncology in Germany. Since then, the society has promoted the scientific fields of radiation physics, radiation biology, and clinical research, particularly in the field of oncology, in order to ensure a continually improved and thus sustainable scientific foundation for radiation oncology. The rules of good scientific practice, ethical standards, and legal regulations form the basis for this.
