Mission:
Obesity is a chronic disease that represents a central and common health problem in Germany. Obesity can lead to serious comorbidities and complications, and is often associated with a reduction in quality of life and a shortened lifespan. Obesity places a significant burden on the economy.

It is therefore the declared aim of the German Obesity Society (DAG) to bring together all experts working in the field of obesity in order to jointly use and increase existing knowledge on the prevention and treatment of obesity and thus make a contribution to promoting health in the German population.
