Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (GACD)

Sugar Hill, Georgia, United States of America

The GACD was “reborn” in August, 2006. After a two to three year hiatus from the original Atlanta Cosmetic Dental Study Club, several interested members met in Sandy Springs, GA to rekindle a dream of being a resource and promoter for excellence in cosmetic dentistry in the entire state of Georgia. A board was created and officers were elected to begin recertification with AACD and AGD. Just a few months later, in February, 2007, over 100 people attended our first educational meeting at the Cherokee Country Club. GACD first speaker was world renowned dentist Dr. Dennis Wells to speak on “Minimal Preparation Veneers” and he was followed by Dr. Brad Durham.

Vision:
The Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry is dedicated to advancing the quality of esthetic and inter-disciplinary patient-centered dentistry through affordable world-class education, hands-on training, and mentoring to help our members build a more diverse and rich base of knowledge and expertise in order to grow their practice. Specifically, the GACD was founded to support the following fundamental goals for member dentists and their patients:

• Dissemination of information on the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry.
• Provide educational opportunities for member dentists and their support team to advance the standard of patient care in Georgia.
• Encourage and promote high standards of ethical conduct and patient care.
• Promote public awareness of advances in the dynamic field of cosmetic dentistry.
