Course Overview:
We have all had beautiful cases fail unexpectedly despite meticulous attention to detail. While bruxism often gets the blame, it is way more likely that there are other functional anomalies contributing. Airway, joint health and occlusal discrepancies are just a few of the systems that must be considered prior to treatment. This lecture takes many of the current concepts in these somewhat confusing disciplines and organizes them so that most practitioners can comfortably identify the hidden conditions that impact long-term treatment outcomes.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants can expect to have gained knowledge on the following concepts:
• How to differentiate occlusal disease from temporo-mandibular joint disorders.
• The role of airway and skeletal patterns in diagnosis and treatment.
• How to predict long-term success for the restored or non-restored dentition.
• The use of diagnostic imaging and testing to aid in diagnosis.
• The appropriate treatment and sequencing based on etiology of the condition.
