The Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology represents all scientists and physicians who are interested in the physiology and pathophysiology of the immune system as well as in the clinic, diagnostics and therapy of all diseases affecting the immune system.

The main objectives of the ÖGAI are to promote an understanding of the immune system and the consequences of its disruption, to reduce the burden on individuals and society in general of immunological-mediated diseases and to improve treatment and prevention options of these diseases. Therefore, ÖGAI supports both basic and applied research as well as its clinical implementation.

The ÖGAI also supports excellence in education and practice in the fields of allergology and immunology and sees itself as a knowledge facilitator as well as an informational body for subject-specific information about the immune system and its manifold disorders such as allergy, autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, lay people, authorities and experts.
