Austrian Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology / Osterreichische Gesellschaft fur Hamatologie and Medizinische Onkologie (OeGHO)

The Austrian Society for Hematology & Medical Oncology (OeGHO) is the specialist society of hematologists and oncologists and has set itself the goal of bringing patient care to the highest standard throughout Austria.

Tasks & Goals :
In the interest of patients and relatives, the OeGHO wants to improve the information of those affected and optimize the care of patients with cancer and blood diseases, from prevention through early detection and diagnosis to treatment and aftercare.

OeGHO aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration between all those involved in cancer therapy and actively promote research in the field of hematology and oncology. Furthermore, the OeGHO aims to:

• Establish standards for specialist training and training institutions
• support the training and continuing education of doctors and nurses
• Issue recommendations and guidelines for diagnosis and therapy as well as recommendations, guidelines and opinions on other issues and topics relevant to the field
