The Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Research Society (APORS) was set up in 2017 with the intent to create a professional, scientific and medical organization focused in promoting orthopaedic research in the Asia Pacific region. It is recognized that in many societies within the Asia Pacific region, many nations have not been able to participate in serious orthopedic research due to various limitations, As an organization responsible for the orthopaedic activities in the Asia Pacific region, APOA has embarked on an effort to promote this discipline amongst APOA member nations. APORS aims to increase resources for research, and awareness of the importance and impact of such research on orthopaedic patients and the public.

Vision:
Their vision is to drive and promote musculoskeletal sciences research in the practice of orthopaedics in the region through the combined efforts of regional orthopedic organizations and international combined societies.

The objects for which APORS is established are:
• To advance the science, art and evidence-based practices of orthopaedic surgery in the region particularly in those countries with Chapters;
• To promote professional education in research, and other interest in musculoskeletal sciences;
• To share knowledge of and solutions to medical problems by employing the principle of science;
• To assist countries of the region in all matters relating to orthopaedic research;
• To promote fellowship and understanding between orthopaedic surgeons and scientists of the region whom are interested in doing orthopaedic research;
• To cooperate with global, international, national and regional orthopaedic associations, societies and specialty groups as in the opinion of the Association have objects similar to the Objects of the Association;
• To promote, encourage and assist in the education and training of orthopaedic surgeons and scientists in the area of musculoskeletal sciences in this region, particularly in those countries with Chapters.
