ACPM Founded in 1954 and chartered in 1956, ACPM emerged as a professional community for board-certified physicians to network, share their expertise and advocate for the advancement of prevention. Today, ACPM represents over 2,000 physicians, medical students, non-physicians, and other partners. All believe in the importance of preventive medicine in Their society.

Mission:
The mission of ACPM is to represent and support preventive medicine specialists in their role as public health and health systems leaders to promote the importance of preventive medicine.

Their mission is to provide support via the following measures:
• Advance preventive medicine practices throughout public health and health systems.
• Demonstrate the value of preventive medicine as critical to health and health care and to averting health crises.
• Develop and provide educational programs for preventive medicine physicians and Their colleagues in prevention.
• Advocate for preventive medicine and preventive medicine physicians in health systems and health policy.
• Foster and facilitate career opportunities for preventive medicine physicians; and assure the availability of high-quality residency training of preventive medicine physicians in sufficient numbers to meet national needs.

Vision:
Public health and health systems value the leadership role of preventive medicine to promote healthy lifestyles and population health.
