Working with anger and resistance is organized by Appalachian Way Counseling, LLC. This course has been approved for a maximum of 7 Hours.

Overview:
This training is relevant to certification or recertification for educational requirements and professional growth issues, along with treatment planning, case management, and discharge.

This class provides an overview to address anger in treatment and define characteristics, and risk factors with a focus on reasons why a client may be so resistant…Professionals will explore and discuss: fear, being afraid to be seen as failures, not wanting to face their problems and attitudes…and develop guidelines to help such as: Don’t make assumptions, place responsibility of success on client, and when progress slows, remind client of goals, don’t aim to cure and don’t make changes for client.  This class will provide an opportunity for aspiring and seasoned counselors to explore their own understandings of why clients are angry and share insight into expanded supports for clients.
