Accreditation Information:
Registered Nurses:
The American Association of Diabetes Educators is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This program provides 1.5 contact hours of continuing education credit.

Registered Dietitians:
The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AM001) is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). CDR Credentialed Practitioners will receive 1.5 Continuing Professional Education units (CPEUs) for completion of this activity/material. Continuing Professional Education Provider Accreditation does not constitute endorsement by CDR of a provider, program, or materials.

Registered Pharmacists:
The American Association of Diabetes Educators is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program provides 1.50 contact hours (0.15 CEUs) of continuing education credit.

Overview:
It's an exciting time for diabetes treatment with several novel therapies on the horizon. This presentation will provide a practical, real-world approach to what the diabetes educator needs to know about medications and technology. This includes new formulations and indications for GLP-1 agonists, SGLT-2 inhibitors, glucagon, and novel new agents. The technology updates will include smart pens, CGM, insulin pumps and what's in the pipeline to achieve a true artificial pancreas system. The presenters will also delve into who will benefit most from these new options and how to integrate these new options into a person’s current regimen.

Attendees should be able to articulate the details and application of new medications and technology options and how they impact patient care.
