Description:
Atrial fibrillation is an independent risk factor for mortality. Given the increasing prevalence of atrial fibrillation, primary care providers are taking care of a larger number of patients with the condition. The good news is that therapies are rapidly evolving for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Being informed about the latest treatments and approaches is important to provide the highest quality of care to patients.

Learning Targets:
• Describe the atrial fibrillation prevalence trends and related independent mortality risk.
• Explain the commonly used outpatient atrial fibrillation diagnostic methods.
• Identify the level of evidence for catheter ablation and its indications for the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

Learning Goal:
Nursing Participants will increase their knowledge of identification and possible interventions with atrial fibrillation in patients

Nursing Participants will identify the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation along with best practices to assist in providing the highest quality of care for patients and families
