Virtual Reality Learning Experience: Prevention and Control of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is organized by Med Learning Group and will be held from Nov 05, 2018 - Nov 05, 2019.

Target Audience:
This educational activity is designed to meet the educational needs of primary care doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients aged 19 or older who are eligible for HPV vaccination.

Nursing Credit Information:
Purpose: This program would be beneficial for nurses involved in the care of patients who are eligible for HPV vaccination. Credits: 1.5 ANCC Contact Hours.

Ultimate Medical Academy/CCM is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Awarded 1.5 contact hours of continuing nursing education of RNs and APNs.

Program Overview:
This online activity will cover the mechanisms of HPV infection; the types of cancer that may arise as a result of HPV infection; and prevention and control methods. It will also cover HPV vaccination schedules and review ways to discuss and times to recommend this vaccine to patients.

Learning Objectives:
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
• Discuss the types of cancer, other than cervical cancer, that have strong associations with HPV DNA, and explain the characteristics and factors exposing these associations.
• Describe the underlying mechanisms and discuss clinical data looking at the safety and efficacy of HPV vaccination.
• Review available data regarding HPV vaccination, highlighting adult patients and current guidelines for this patient population.
• Improve provider knowledge of current HPV vaccine schedule recommendations, and discuss optimal methods of communication for patients inquiring about HPV vaccine.
