Description:
This activity focuses on AFIB education resources and providing insight into common AFIB treatment barriers. Best practices will be reviewed to help hospitals lacking AFIB programs to learn about creating administrative buy-in, setting up an AFIB clinic, and creating a multidisciplinary team to better treat patients and improve outcomes.

Objectives:
At the completion of this online course, the learner will be able to:
• Reproduce knowledge about established and evolving AFib treatment efforts and reducing barriers to patient care.
• Reframe best practices in top performing afib clinic hospitals, especially in the varying roles of the clinic coordinator, administrative roles, data management, multidisciplinary teams, etc. and translate into practice at their hospital.
• Predict the risk for AF in an individual and the risk for stroke in a patient with AFib based on patient characteristics.
• Summarize trends in the prevalence, incidence, and economic burden of atrial fibrillation (AF) in the United States; discuss the etiology of and morbidity and mortality from AF; and identify risk factors for AF.
• Analyze program data to improve Atrial Fibrillation programs and improve patient outcomes.
