Update on Adult Immunizations is organized by Southern Medical Association (SMA) and will be held from Dec 14, 2018 - Dec 14, 2019. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Target Audience:
This activity is designed for healthcare professionals including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and allied healthcare professionals of all specialties.
Credits Available:
Southern Medical Association designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
All healthcare professionals who are not MDs or DOs will receive a certificate of participation.
Goals and Objectives:
Adult vaccination lags behind the recommendations endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For example, less than half of eligible adults are protected against influenza through vaccination each year in the United States. Clinicians need to be kept abreast of changes in the immunization schedules and they also need assistance in how to advise reluctant patients to become vaccinated. At the conclusion of the session, learners should be better prepared to:
• Appreciate the major impact that immunization has on preventing morbidity and mortality;
• Optimally immunize your adult patients.
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
