Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Update on Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
As the pediatric cardiac surgery, pediatric intensive care, pediatric and adult congenital cardiology care have improved over the years, there is an increasing number of adult patients with congenital heart disease being seen in adult practices. The objective of the presentation is to make the learners aware of this group of patient, their common presentations and diagnoses and common medical and related issues these patient’s face over the course of their life.
Objective(s):
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: INCREASE awareness about increasing prevalence of Adult Congenital Heart disease; and DISCUSS common congenital heart disease diagnoses encountered in adult practice. You’ll also learn about the following:
• Common causes of congenital heart disease in adult patients
• Changing prevalence of congenital heart disease in adults
• Follow up testing and monitoring
• Marfan syndrome
