Description:
Refresher Courses are sessions captured at past RSNA Annual Meetings focusing on themes of health care reform, payment models, research and innovation, patient-centered radiology, and advances in the different imaging modalities. Refresher Courses are targeted at diagnostic, interventional, and oncologic radiologists and are designed to improve knowledge and competence in responding to the challenges and advancements in the field of radiology. Most courses include an audio-visual presentation, as well as a corresponding transcript.

Learning Objectives:
• Describe the typical appearances of a tubal ectopic pregnancy.
• List findings that suggest an interstitial ectopic pregnancy.
• Distinguish a spontaneous abortion in progress from a cervical ectopic pregnancy.
• Recommend the appropriate follow-up for early pregnancies of unknown location (PUL) identified on transvaginal sonography.
• Distinguish with certainty a failed pregnancy from a pregnancy suspicious for but not diagnostic of failed pregnancy based on the sonographer's finding.
• Assess ectopic pregnancy and identify its location.
• Recognize normal fetal anatomy in the first trimester and differentiate a normal fetus from an abnormal fetus.
• Predict the sex of the developing fetus during the first trimester and understand the importance of sex determination in some conditions.
• Recognize 'must know' major anomalies evident in the first trimester.
• Evaluate first-trimester assessment of multiple pregnancies.
