The content of this activity is designed to meet the needs of the following target audience: phlebologists, general surgeons, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, interventional cardiologists, vascular medicine practitioners, dermatologists, dermatologic surgeons, family practice and internal medicine practitioners, plastic surgeons, obstetricians and gynecologists, cardiologists, and any other healthcare professional currently or planning on treating patients with venous disease.

Course Overview:
This activity will provide an overview of calf vein thrombosis. The intent of this activity is to improve the learners' competency through this introduction to managing and recognizing the complications and significances of calf vein deep venous thrombosis.

Learning Objectives:
• Explain the complications that can occur from a calf vein thrombosis.
• Describe the CHEST 2012 guidelines for the treatment of calf vein thrombi.
• Examine the fate of untreated calf thrombi.
• Evaluate the significance of a calf vein deep venous thrombosis and treatment options.
• Locate the anatomy and relative sizes of important vessels when considering all treatment options with respect to calf vein thrombosis.
• Calculate an individual bleeding risk and determine if a patient is at significant risk for bleeding.
