This presentation will review the symptoms of a transient ischemic attack (TIA). The new definition of TIA will be reviewed. Diagnostic imaging options for patients with TIA will be covered. The role of antithrombotic therapy for stroke prevention will be discussed. The role and timing of carotid revascularization will be reviewed. The use of statins and antihypertensives in this population will be discussed.
