Description:
This online course is based on current data from Canadian and international literature. The aim of this program is to provide increased knowledge and skills for practitioners who provide care to patients who are transgender/non-binary/gender diverse. Cultural competency has been shown to improve health care for gender diverse individuals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the language of gender diversity as it relates to health care;
  • Explore Canadian data related to transgender health;
  • Identify aspects of gender transition;
  • Formulate ways to make your clinical practice and spaces more inclusive.

This event is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.
