Help Older Clients Improve Joint Health
According to the Arthritis Foundation, an estimated 31 million Americans are affected by osteoarthritis, the most common form of arthritis—and more than 30% of Americans age 65 and older experience it, according to the American Nurses Association. You have the power to help this special population. In this course led by Tanya Thompson, founder and owner of Pilates Unlimited – the Art of Movement™, you will learn the fundamentals of training active agers and how to help them continue exercising safely through a focused osteoarthritic program. You will discover modifications and assists that will make your program safe and effective—and will encourage joint care and longevity for your osteoarthritic clients.
You will learn:
• How to modify and assist various exercises in order to meet older clients’ needs
• How to teach an osteoarthritic exercise class safely and efficiently
• Details of osteoarthritis and the necessities when teaching an osteoarthritic client movement and exercise
