Expires Date: 31 Dec 2029
Description:
We all have unconscious or implicit biases. This course teaches professionals in service fields how to manage, recognize and understand its effect on perception, judgement, and actions that may result in inequitable decision-making, communication, or delivery of behavioral health care services. Participants will learn and practice making conscious efforts to reduce barriers and disparities in access to and the delivery of behavioral health services, by developing new approaches to understanding diversity in the patient population, avoiding patterns of preferential treatment and disregard of a patient based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or other characteristics.
