Description:
In this webinar, we provide an overview of the recent advances in automated insulin delivery (AID) with Beta Bionics' iLet Bionic Pancreas and its adaptive closed-loop algorithms enabling fully autonomous insulin dosing with meal announcements. We will share the results of the pivotal trial and the most recent real-world data analysis. These advances highlight a paradigm shift in simplifying insulin management, thus expanding diabetes technology access to a broader population. We will also discuss the psychological adjustments some experience regarding transferring management to an algorithm.
We will consider the implications of technology advances on clinical practice and the DCES's expanded role in ongoing support of iLet users requiring behavioral education versus prescriptive therapy setting adjustments. The DCES can lead in improving the health of the populations they serve by expanding technology access to less traditional candidates. This will involve redefining success, individualizing the acceptable level of management balanced with the effort required for each person. Join us and be part of reimagining type 1 diabetes management!
