Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss The Diabetic Foot.

This webcast will provide an overview of Diabetes and its impact particularly on the lower extremity. After watching this webcast the audience should be able to recognize when to refer a patient for a diabetic foot exam. The audience should learn how to perform an initial diabetic foot exam and recognize the at risk patient. Finally the audience will be able to perform the initial work up for a diabetic foot wound.

Objective(s):
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: EVALUATE the impact of Diabetes on the lower extremity; DISCUSS warning signs or symptoms which may result in Diabetic ulceration; UNDERSTAND when to refer a diabetic patient to a foot specialist; and HOW to work up an at risk diabetic patient or a patient with a foot wound.
