Nursing Credit Information:
Purpose: This program would be beneficial for nurses involved in the care of patients who are eligible for HPV vaccination. Credits: 2.0 ANCC Contact Hours.

Program Overview:
This online activity will cover the mechanisms of HPV infection; the types of cancer that may arise as a result of HPV infection; and prevention and control methods. It will also cover HPV vaccination schedules and review ways to discuss and times to recommend vaccination to patients.

Learning Objectives:
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
• Discuss the types of cancer, other than cervical cancer, that have strong associations with HPV DNA and reveal the characteristics and factors exposing these associations
• Describe the underlying mechanism driving HPV vaccination, discuss clinical data revealing the safety and efficacy of HPV vaccination
• Review available clinical data specific to pediatric and adolescent patients and current clinical guidelines for this patient population
• Improve provider knowledge of current HPV vaccine schedule recommendations and discuss optimal methods of communication for patient inquiring about HPV vaccine.
