This one-hour webinar trains physicians and other care team members registered for the AHA/AMA joint Target: BP initiative, on the new Measurement of blood pressure (BP) in humans and demonstrates how resources available in Target: BP support translating the evidence into practice.

The webinar highlights the major recommendations of the new statement from the American Heart Association including:
• Device selection, validation, and calibration
• Role and use of 24-hour ABPM and HBPM in diagnosis and management of hypertension
• The importance of staff training and retraining

Objectives:
At the completion of this online course, the learner will be able to:
• Provide an example of the effect an inaccurate blood pressure measurement has on accurately diagnosing and managing high blood pressure.
• List factors (patient, observer, equipment, training, system) that can make blood pressure readings inaccurate.
• Identify strategies to adhere to for measurement accuracy.
• Use Measure Accurately tools to identify opportunities for improving accuracy and reliability of blood pressure measurement.
