OVERVIEW
T Cell Effector Function (TH1, TH2, TH17) and Cytokine Biology is organized by Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and would be held during Mar 14, 2017 - Mar 14, 2019.
The target audience for this medical event for rheumatologists, dermatologists, allergists, internal medicine physicians, pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other health care professionals caring for patients with immunologic diseases. This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Clinical immunology is rapidly evolving, and it is challenging for the practicing clinician to keep abreast of the advances. The Basic and Clinical Immunology Webcast Series provides clinicians with a review of basic and clinical immunology. The webcast series is composed of A-B-C teaching with an emphasis on biologic principles and implications.
Conference Objectives are :
• Describe the major subsets of CD4+ effector T cells and the role of cytokines in generation of these cells.
• Explain the role of signal 1, signal 2, and signal 3 in the activation of naive T cells.
• Discuss the important cytokines produced by TH1, TH2, and TH17 cells.
• Describe the role of TH1 and TH2 cells in hypersensitivity reactions and allergy and how the balance between TH1 and TH2 cells affects the outcome of infections.
• Describe the role of TH1, TH2, and TH17 cells in host defenses and how defects in these cells lead to immunodeficiencies.
