Surviving and Thriving with B-Cell Malignancies: Surveying an Ever-Evolving Landscape is organized by Healthcare Made Practical (HMP) Communications LLC and will be held from Oct 31, 2018 - Oct 31, 2019.

Target Audience:
Designed for hematologists and hematologic oncologists, medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, and other healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, physicians-in-training, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician assistants) who are involved and/or interested in the treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies.

Course Overview:
Classification, staging, and treatment strategies for B-cell malignancies have progressed rapidly over the last 2 decades, as have their treatments, evolving from traditional standards of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and/or stem cell transplantation, to a more focused targeted-treatment approach that capitalizes on recent discoveries of molecular surface expressions and cell signaling pathways that are common to diseased B-cells. In 2018, B-cell malignancies are likely to be treated with a combination of chemotherapy,targeted treatments, and/or newer and emerging immunotherapies such as monoclonal antibodies, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), and chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy. Newer cell-signaling inhibitors are also increasingly being used for B-cell malignancies. This introduces a tantalizing array of novel and unfamiliar treatment options that many hematology-focused clinicians are still unacquainted with.

This on-demand web archive is initiated to address knowledge and practice gaps among physicians, NPs, and PAs pertaining to latest strategies for diagnosing and treating patients with B-cell malignancies.

Course Objectives:
• Analyze revisions in classification, staging, and risk stratification of various NHL subtypes and CLL/SLL
• Identify genetic aberrations, cellular expressions, and cell signaling pathways that are common to malignant B-cell diseases
• Differentiate between the mechanisms of action and efficacy/safety profiles of immunotherapies for B-cell malignancies including monoclonal antibodies, ICIs, and CAR-T
• Address barriers against implementation of newer or emerging therapeutic options for B-cell malignancies
