Description:
School Nurses, especially those who are new to the discipline, need to know and understand the value of quality and professional care delivery to students with special healthcare needs in their daily practice. This NCPD will give information to improve your daily practice and habits to protect your license.

Learning Outcome
As a result of participating in this educational activity, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the school nurse’s role in an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • List at least two ways school nurses contribute to the health care of students with disabilities.
  • Summarize the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA).
